@4IS IT CONFIRMED?
================
@1
OK, folks, regarding all the rumours about the future of Dr. Who:
I have today's copy of The Sunday Times sitting in front of me and there is a
blurb about Eric Idle in it. It suppose this article must be true as the
Sunday Times is a very reputable paper...
Anyway, here's the article...
@3
TIME TRAVELLER
British actor and comedian Eric Idle is to star in a new series
of the cult science fiction series, Dr. Who. Eric, 51, best known
for his Monty Python characters, will have Baywatch's blonde
beachgirl, Pamela Anderson, as his assistant. American producer
and director, Steven Spielberg, will start shooting 30 episodes
of the world's longest running sci-fi series in July. It is
rumoured to be costing a massive 20 million pounds to create.
Michael Palin, another member of the Monty Python team said "Eric
will make a great Dr. Who. He has a youthful quality even though
he's middle aged, and he'd look great in a scarf!"

That's from the July 3, 1994 edition of the Sunday Times in the Book section.
In the very same edition is a full page article about Jon Pertwee, including an
interview with Pertwee's son, Sean.
Anyway, I hope that information is useful to someone, but I bet you've all
heard by now anyway!
